Heart over Mind

  HEART OVER MIND

Choosing between your friends that fill your heart throughout your life is never easy. As I have read the text about Pola's being indecisive about friendship, whether to choose Oil (her first friend) and Water (her new friend), I put myself on the situation of her and started to think deeply what if I am the one torn of that situation, what will I do?

Well, If I am Pola,  I won't let myself to let go of a friend because friends are hard to find and they were sent by God to help us grow, to comfort us when we feel sad, and to fill our hearts. Also, based from what I've experienced with my friend in Naic who's now not considering me as her friend just because she already met a new one, that made me so hurt and think why do people have this attitude to unfriend a friend to be friends with others. Back to the story, If I will do this to Oil, I will hurt her feelings that much and I won't let that happen to someone who is part of my life. I would also not choose Oil because I don't want to prevent myself from meeting new friends that will surely have the urge to give lessons in me. In short, I will keep them both because healing a broken heart is never easy especially if your what so called "friend" did it. In the story, Pola is a puppet machine. She's already a puppet that's why if I will be given a chance to talk to her, I will tell her to do not let others control her especially in making decisions because if I am her, I will shout out to the people who are controlling me that "You may see me as a puppet, cause I really am. But for me, I am not. So don't make me someone I'm not and please let me live with my heart and not by your demands or the demands of the society." Also, I want to tell Pola to never lose hope because like what the saying "opposite do attracts" trying to say, sometimes impossible will be possible, just have hope. That's why I have this hope that someday the three of us will hang out together, sharing laughs, comforting each other,  just me (Pola), Oil and Water. Maybe not now, but in the future.

Again, do not be a puppet controlled by your thoughts (mind), live according to the says and the beat of your heart.

A Bow without an Arrow

A BOW WITHOUT AN ARROW

From the beautiful town of Cian,  there is a girl named Aivs who's happily living with her loving and caring parents. She grown up like a princess in a way that her mother is always waking her up through a song while leading her in the table full of foods cooked by her father. She never felt rejected and neglected because in the family, she's the apple of her parents' eyes. She became the favorite because she's always on the top regarding academics and she never failed to make her parents proud. That's why her parents had a lot of dreams for her for they believe that Aivs will be successful someday because of her potentials. But there's this day when Aivs' father died because of goiter. Her being princess became being slave. A slave in their own family. She do all the household chores such as cooking, cleaning, washing clothes, even while studying. Her mother? She became Aivs' nightmare because her mother full of dreams for her became a mother full of sadness and longingness for a husband. She was so depressed to forget her responsibility as the light of the family. From that moment, Aivs treat herself as a bow. She became a bow without an arrow. She started to feel incomplete. That "one day" when her father died was the day her life became miserable. People thought that she only lose her father but little they do not know that she lose both. Her mother was still alive but she do not feel her anymore. Aivs thought that that "one day" was her greatest nightmare but there's this unexpected day when she almost lose her life, and that's when her mother, also died.

Through all the longingness, challenges and grief that she'd faced, she started to lose her life. She continued being a bow without an arrow. She lived without a purpose. She continue her life without any target or any goals. She's not the ambitious type of daughter full of dreams anymore. She forget all her targets. She just live like going with the flow. Until one day, she heard someone said "Study in CvSU-CCC and continue your dream of becoming a teacher". As of today, Aivs is now in her third year in college, taking up Bachelor in Secondary Education- Major in English, dreaming and claiming that someday, she will stand in front of her students not just to teach them but also help them to be the better version of themselves for she believes that her students are sometimes experiencing being a bow because of the challenges of life, but Aivs, herself, wants to be the compass (guide) of those students in finding their arrows (inspiration) to reach their targets (goals).

Before I'll end, I want to introduce myself, I am Via, the Aivs in the story, from the beautiful town in Naic (Cian in story) who was once a bow that finds her arrow and now aiming and targeting her goals.
